About Colleen

Nature has always been where I feel most grounded — a place of quiet observation, patience, and wonder.

My photography journey took on new depth after returning back to Muskoka, where forests, wetlands, and open skies became part of daily life. Surrounded by wildlife and changing seasons, I began to notice the subtle moments that often go unseen — the pause before movement, the softness of early light, the calm presence of animals moving through their world.

These are the moments I am drawn to photograph.

My goal is not simply to document wildlife, but to create images that feel immersive — allowing the viewer to experience the atmosphere, emotion, and stillness of being there. I use natural editing techniques to preserve authenticity, so each photograph remains true to the encounter as it unfolded.

Artistic Approach

Wildlife photography requires patience, respect, and an understanding that nature cannot be rushed or controlled.

Many of my images are created through quiet observation and waiting — sometimes for hours — allowing animals to behave naturally without disturbance. This approach creates photographs that feel intimate and genuine, capturing connection rather than performance.

Light, mood, and environment are as important to me as the subject itself. I am often drawn to scenes where wildlife exists within its landscape, telling a broader story about place and season.

Each photograph represents not just a subject, but an experience — a moment of connection between observer and the natural world.

Life at Fox Run

I live and work at Fox Run, my home studio nestled within the Muskoka landscape that inspires much of my work. Wildlife paths cross nearby forests and meadows, and encounters with deer, owls, foxes, and songbirds are part of daily life.

Living here has shaped not only what I photograph, but how I see — encouraging a slower, more attentive way of observing life and the changing seasons.

Many of the images in my portfolio are created just steps from my door.

Artist Journey

My path into photography grew from a lifelong love of nature and a desire to share the beauty I was experiencing outdoors.

Over time, photography evolved from a personal passion into a creative practice focused on storytelling, atmosphere, and emotional connection. As my work developed, I began sharing prints with collectors who were seeking artwork that brought a sense of calm and presence into their homes, workplaces and cottages.

Today, my work continues to evolve with the seasons, inspired by the landscapes and wildlife of Muskoka and the surrounding region.

Collecting Fine Art

Fine art photography has a unique ability to transform a space — bringing atmosphere, calm, and connection to the natural world indoors.

My prints are created using exhibition-quality materials chosen for their longevity, detail, and tonal depth. Whether displayed in a home, cottage, or professional space, each piece is intended to evoke a sense of presence — the feeling of stepping into a quiet moment in nature.

If you are looking for something specific, I am always happy to provide a curated selection.

A Personal Note

Nature has a remarkable ability to restore us — to slow our thoughts, calm our senses, and remind us of our place within something larger.

It is a privilege to share these moments through my photography.

Thank you for being here.

If my work resonates with you, I would love to hear from you.
